CRATE Modular partners with Education Facilities Group (EFG) to construct a new modular education building in Los Angeles

GALS LA is an all-girls charter school that takes a holistic approach to development, recognizing a connection between a healthy mind and body. The school integrates health and well-being by offering a program that meets the physical, emotional and psychosocial needs of female students.

CRATE builds multi-family and public works projects, and has a long history of building schools locally in Los Angeles. Their innovative modular construction process and streamlined approach allow for accelerated lead times. For educational institutions like GALS LA, this means buildings can be deployed quickly and schools open earlier.

“We are always enthusiastic about taking on educational projects,” said CRATE Modular’s CEO. Rich Rozycki. “Right now, there is a great need for more space and classrooms in the education system. The challenge is to build while keeping school timetables intact, but with a modular approach, manufacturing is fast. “

EFG, a local school promoter, is a partner in the project. They lead teams through EFG which has extensive experience building schools in Californiaincluding the Academy of Renaissance Arts in the northeast Los AngelesMagnolia Academy of Sciences in santa ana and Equitas Academy Charter School in Los Angeles. The GALS LA facility will be EFG’s first educational project to be built in a modular fashion, serving as a milestone for the organization.

“GALS LA will best illustrate how educational facilities can be delivered both cost-effectively and expeditiously, while maintaining beautiful, high-quality infrastructure,” Rozycki said. We are delighted to add GALS LA to our rapidly growing portfolio of meaningful projects. Projects like these are incredibly rewarding – good schools contribute to thriving communities. We are always happy to be a part of building the community.”
